Welcome to Fair Shares Season 17 Wk6

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and EVEN-week Half Share members this week.
(Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday.

LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. Make sure that the time you want is in your order confirmation email. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

This email is how we communicate with members. Please at least scan it so you know any important information. If you have questions, just reply to this email. You can find past newsletters on the website here.
Bag Etiquette
Pretty please, help us. We already spend way more time than is necessary touching and organizing the bags every week. Consider that what may take you an additional 30 seconds adds up to hours of time for us to deal with each of your bags. Folding the paper bags flat (not also folded in half) and stacking them rather than tossing them hodgepodge would be really helpful. Most of you already know the routine and get the gold star for perfect participation. Thank you!

Kirkwood Porch Members who have the cooler bags and ice packs, PLEASE follow the instructions so you don't make our staff gag when they clean your bags that have been closed up and festering for a week! When you arrive home on Thursday evening...
1) Remove the ice pack and wrap it in a paper towel or paper bag and allow it to defrost and dry completely.
2) Wipe out and allow your bag to dry and air out for the week. Thanks!

Week 6

New: Broccoli, Collards, Kohlrabi, Scarlet Turnips, Mini Daikon Radishes
Returning: Duck Eggs, Ramps

A heads up that our farmer who grows our strawberries is seeing lower production this year due to disease. We still have strawberries but they are sourcing from another farmer to fill the gap. We don’t fully know this other farmer’s practices so please clean your strawberries before eating them this week!

Homemade Granola

Homemade Granola
Homemade granola is not only easy, it’s so much better than store bought. The best part is that you can customize it to your taste. I used several Fair Shares ingredients to make this. It’s wonderful in yogurt as well as with milk. Read more

Can You Dig It?

Please remember to ask for your plants at pickup if you ordered them in previous weeks!

We order from the farmer only what was added in the carts each week. Once your plants come in the following week(s), we gather, organize and write your names on the plants. Then we write your order on the bags so whoever is getting your share for you know to give you your plant order. As you might imagine, this is a ridiculously complex process to keep track of, so please help by monitoring your own plant orders, checking your bag at pickup for notes, and reminding us to give you your plants to keep this process from being even more confusing. Thanks!

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
